DT055 - Hippos

I was watching from the waters edge of this massive fresh water Lagoon in the middle of the Crator when out of the water this family of Hippos just started coming and it was amazing to see their size and see how slow they seem to move..they spend most of their lives partially submerged and covered in water..barely moving much at all. Unless they are approached by a predator...then they can be very deadly and open there mouths wide enough to scare off any predator. I loved capturing this shot.
